*WinNT- no hardcopy manual but much cheaper* Thats no even the key difference. No FREE SUPPORT from MS with OEM. 90 Days free support with retail editions. VID Sound Card NIC doubtful there is any concern here. *Also..SDRAM or SGRAM Millenium G200? there's a $25 difference, is SGRAM worth it for real time data and charts?* no get the cheaper one. Stock charting packages even RT don't need that much power. Sean

I agree with Sean on all counts here. Not sure how much use you'd make of the MS support for NT. You can always pay to call them (or someone else if you need to. If the savings is significant, I'd go ahead and do it. Regards, Dave

Clarence, as far as I know, the G200 is only available with SGRAM in the AGP bus and SDRAM in the PCI bus. Are you talking about the Mystique G200? I haven't seen any PCI versions yet, supposed to ship this month. I'll find out when they'll hit the distributors next week at Comdex. I know the G200 AGP is available in both retail and OEM versions. Before I bought my first G200 AGP I called and confirmed the RAMDAC speed of both of them, they said they are identical cards in all aspects, only the manuals, packaging and possibly bundled software are different. But now that they are showing more specs on their web site, they do show a "MGA-G200 SD" AGP SDRAM 230 ramdac. It is the second listing under bulk products. matrox.com I don't know what this card is, Ingram Micro as well as other distributors don't show a G200 AGP SDRAM 230 dac, Every OEM G200 AGP I have bought has been SGRAM and 250 ramdac. I would probably call them to make sure. On the previous millenium series the OEM version had a slightly slower RAMDAC than the retail. I think it was 180 vs. 200. They apparently are shipping the same card to both on the G200. I would go with the OEM G200 SDRAM, it is a serious card, the best I have ever used. Even thought RTIII won't need the speed, it is sure nice in other apps. You may already know this, but if you are going to run multiple monitors in NT, they either need to match (which means waiting for the PCI G200) or you'll have to go through the process described by Dave here. Message 5986528 . I tried it with a G200 AGP and a Millenium PCI before I had this info, wouldn't work, so I already swapped the G200 for another Millenium II AGP. I'll probably wait for the PCI G200 to ship and then will put both G200's back in. Hope I haven't confused you, this is as I understand it. Anyone know anything different? Good Luck Dan
