>>> And don't forget Rupert Murdoch...

Yeah, he's a real liberal, just like Bill Gates, the effective owner of MSNBC. (Think there's a grudge working there somewhere...?)

I live in a town that voted 4/1 for Boxer over Fong. Yet we have to put up with a Republican paper, the Chronicle. Why? Old money own it, that's why. The reporters don't toe the conservative line, they get pushed out. Generally though, that gets handled during the hiring phase. As when it turned out that MI5 ran the board at the BBC, and controlled the hiring process. Bunch of real nickel-plated liberals there, I suppose.

This isn't even talking about the tens of thousands of magazines, newletters, and other printed matter that is generated directly by businesses, disguised as reportage.

There are counter examples, of course. I have written for several kinds of publications myself and I feel I know what I am talking about. Many a 'liberal' article gets spiked by a call from a big advertiser, or the country-club-going publisher. Including those on Ken Starr and global warming.

Global warming. Seems like every moron who never understood biology or chemistry thinks he knows that one just couldn't be true. I wonder how many record hot years in a row we need, how much coastline needs eating up, how big the hurricanes need to be to convince them. Probably infinite, because stupidity is infinite. (Yet the stupidity of TV reporters seems even greater. Must be an optical illusion, like the one that makes them seem 10 pounds fatter.)

Cheers,
Chaz
