To ALL, I can only think that DELL is going to blow the street away (even the whisper number). I think this for the following reasons. 1) DELL knows what happens when they don't beat the whisper number. remember the quarter before last. They only beat the street by 2 cents (missed the whisper number by 1 cent) and the stock went from 97+ down to the high 70's. I think If DELL thought they would not beat the street by at least a few cents (or the whisper number), they would have made some kind of cautionary statement like "we will be inline with expectations" or something like that. Ironic how high the bar is for DELL, most companies would love to say "We are inline", but for DELL to say that, is like a normal company saying we will miss the estimate by 10 cents. 2) MD has constantly said that things were going "Great". 3) No response to all of the CPQ crap. In the past when CPQ made stupid statements like "the PC industry is slowing" (you know, like quarter before last when they had their brand of crap backed up in the channel like a terd in the shitter), DELL immediately came out and said everything looks good for us. I think if DELL releases a great report tomorrow without retaliation, it's going to make 5er look like an idiot for trying to steal DELL's thunder. HELL I would not be surprised if DELL beat the street by more than what CPQ reported. what was it 6 cents... WOOOOOOW DELL better watch out for them. ha 4) I have never seen so many new DELL computers showing up in the customers that we support. Just last week, Our company switched to a DELL standard and I got my new lap top. The day after I got mine, I saw the UPS truck pull up to my buddies house and unload a dell. Went to talk to him and Found out that their company had just switched to DELL from CPQ. 4) Don't believe what the MM are saying about an IT spending slowdown. We are out in the field, and we see companies spending more because they are replacing hardware, to deal with the Y2K and NT5 issues. I think DELL will report .32 or better. GO DELL
