Could we sell an overnight long position and use the full margin amount to buy the same stock at datek? I know many firms don't allow.
Thanks.

<the ability to short nearly any stock> This is another interesting thing about Datek. They seem to get very high marks for availability of shorts, but there have also been recent complaints about an increase of unexpected buy-ins. I am interested in strategies where I could potentially build a large hedged short position and a forced buy-in would be very bad. I am wondering how severe the buy-in problem is becoming at Datek?

Is it still possible to sell more shares than one owns in one sale, so as to go short without worrying about an uptick? I haven't tried this, but recall others being able to do it some time ago.

TIA,

Dave
