I remember you saying you would rather use a laptop a few
months ago.

I have a palm pilot and it takes me a lot longer to input
data by hunt and peck with the stylus. Sure can't do that
in a car or moving around at all. It is also still awkward
compared to my i1000 nextel phone. If you add the wireless
connection to the palm pilot it is even more awkward. I have
to back it up too on my computer. This was an issue as I'm
often away from "my" computer for long periods of time.
Another big downside of the palm pilot is that if I lose it,
someone else gets all my info :^(

As for MS Exchange, I don't use that nor does my company
so that wouldn't do me much good. But I can reach Portico
all the time and I don't have to pay someone to admin
any MS Exchange software or PC servers and dial in modems.

As for using a computer over Portico, If I were close as you
say, and no one was in front of it already, and I didn't have
to wait for it to boot or to log in and bring up a browser and
then get to my favorite internet site, and while we are at it,
I also had the time to sit and be stationary then I might use it
instead.

I agree with your local chip support for ASR. In fact I'm
taking time right now to write this message from tuning code
for such media applications. General Magic has talked about
exploiting such devices in magicTalk when they are available
and mass market.

The NOC is there for other things as well, like safely storing my
important data, email and voice mail, switching, implementing
the information services and call management, right?
