Thean.. I thnk you are missing the point. IMO, Uncle Al's hands are tied.. if he cuts too much more, the bond mkt will suffer and the bond mkt is much bigger than the stock mkt. Cutting interest rates is not a cure-all for all financial woes.

sure, we could make a slight move higher or even go sideways for a few weeks, but my guess is by early DEC, we'll be sitting near DOW 5000.

Thean,

Nice dialogue going here. Thoughtful assessment of the market. Thanks. See link below for another perspective.

LT--you've got to be nuts or something to think that the DOW is ever going to hit 5000. I agree that we're overloaded, but who's to say what's a reasonable market value---the buyers and sellers, right? Well, they're happy buying for the most part. All is rosy now, didn't you hear?

There seems to be "manipulation" going on, so there's not a "real" free market in place, but still, the nuts are running the show. Fundamental value thinker such as yourself (and me) will not win in the current environment. It's going to take a gigantic slap in the face and huge dousing with ice cold glacier water to stop this monstrous train in its tracks.

Devaluation in China or Brazil should do it, though. Know anyone there?
