Gregory,

I first invested in CPQ in 1986 I believe at around $15.
I first sold in October of '87 on that infamous day (the
19th?) at about 54. Remember it well. I put a "market"
order in thinking the price would plummet (call it a mild
case of panic) and the stock actually rose in price from
the previous day's close.

In any case, I'm not sure when Mr. Pheiffer took control of
the company but he obviously has done a tremendous job over
many years. My advice would be to be an investor in both
companies.
