Give me a chance to catch up on the posts and the underlying arguments... In the meantime, there's another startup in OR, this one doesn't even have their web page constructed yet, called Templex that is pushing a form of optical cdma, I belive. Check them out if you can find anything on them, as their claims are similar to the those of the subject here.

That's what we want from you. An explanation for laymen of how it might work. Until that is forthcoming, the demand that we tell you how it might work seems presumptuous. You already purport to know. The commercial challenge of supplanting WDM is formidable. Advanced WDM systems already achieve multi-terabit transmissions in the laboratory. Therefore the Palmer method must yield some supreme optical calligraphy to keep pace, not merely demos of 93 gigabits one way. If you grasp what he is doing, perhaps you could start by explaining as simply as you can the nature of the advance, the reason it is more scalable than WDM, and the robustness of the demodulation method, whatever it is. All these are of great interest even if Palmer has only developed a useful way to enhance WDM rather than supplant it.
