The Interest Rate Game...

Ike:

When I see the KTEL and EBAY type runups, it reminds me of a game of musical chairs... The music is playing and everyone is having fun... When the music stops there is one less chair... Someone must leave the game... In this game if you lose your chair you lose your money... After a while those remaining players begin to get a little paranoid... Along with their paranoia comes increased market volatility... This is just what the doctor ordered for the FED to be bullied into another rate cut... I'd look for this to continue right into Tuesday as a constant reminder to the FED that their friends in high places are losing money, and they'd better come to the rescue again...

In an era of Computer generated buy and sell programs, the market can be helped along to achieve a FED friendly atmosphere... The danger comes when there are no more chairs left and the FED interest rate cupboard is bare...
