Savoirman,

Do you know whether or not the Encore DVD's drives support digital audio extraction?? And if so..at what speed? Right now, I have a SCSI CD-ROM and SCSI CD-R which I use to make audio CD's (compilations and copies for the car). The setup works great. I am considering getting the new Encore but I would like to avoid having 3 drives so I would like to consider replacing the CR-ROM with the DVD drive.

Also, I assume that all Encore DVD drives are non-SCSI. Is this correct and do you know of any CREAF plans to release a SCSI version of Encore?? Like many people, I am considering getting a DVD drive for Christmas. Although DVD, is still taking its good old time getting accepted, I do notice a pickup in the pace. Almost all the OEM's offer drives now and titles seem to be picking up. I really think that available DVD titles is the key to increasing DVD acceptance. I am very interested in getting the complete National Geographic library on disks. It comes in two versions. I believe the choice are a 31 CD-ROM disk collection (ugh!) or a 4 DVD disk collection. That's a big difference in terms of convenience.

Good luck,

FF

Keep the employees happy.

Now this is what I consider a good use of company resources and definitely in the best interest of long term shareholders. A happy work force is a motivated and loyal work force. A great management move, IMO.
