Harrigan: Thanks for the DLJ report. Keep them coming! It would seem that the cause of DLJ's prediction of $40 by year end, made a week ago, was the information they got about the new mixed distribution model. I liked this excerpt:

"CPQ stock trades around 17 x'99 earnings versus IBM 21x, HWP 20x, GTW 22x, MEUI 28x, and DELL 50x. We believe CPQ's multiple will expand to at least 20x in the near term and expect the stock to reach $40 by the end of this year. Our 12 month price target remains $50."

Realistically, the p/e should touch 30 x sometime in a bull-run in 1999 and $60 is eminently attainable.

Richie, thanks for the DLJ report - right on the money. EPS est of 2.00 in 1999, slap a 25X multiple and you get 50 some time next year.
