Trufflette,..Re:.. Unsung Heroes: Kumar Treads on White-Shoe Types' Toes

Thanks for the article on Kumar. It was obvious from the interview this morning that he had done his homework in arriving at his numbers. I think the discrepancy (between what is expected and what he has deduced) might be explained by the fact that the IDC/Dataquest numbers contained the July sales rather than the October sales as Jim Kelley has pointed out. At any rate, we'll know shortly.

Thanks again,

Lee

Thanks Trufflette for the article

It is always better to understand why an analyst thinks the way they do rather to vilify and demonize them. A track record also helps.
Even then, I pray that Kumar is wrong. The good news is that ALL agree that DELL is still an excellent company and stock.

Happy investing

I sold yesterday too; pile of calls in the morning and shares in the afternoon. Am now 100% cash. With the 3+ point gap up at the opening, I couldn't resist. Couldn't bear to risk the $$$ slipping away.

Am considering Nov 70 calls. With the implied volatility at 80% (?), they are pretty pricey though. Looking for a repeat of Aug 18 (earnings day) when we drifted down near the end of day and closed near the low. Am thinking many folks want to get out today but are hoping for a better price, but will sell at the end regardless.

Will also consider Dec 70-75 puts if it gaps up in the morning. Am expecting Dell and Nasdaq to give back over the next month.
