Kevin , re. you must be an idiot to buy a PII 400 or 450
It shows how consumers are affected by the REAL hype , i.e. Intel advertising . I agree with you that very few people could tell the difference between a K6-2 350 and a PII 450 .
If computer stores were honest they would run side by side demos running popular software so that consumers could see the difference ,
best wishes , Brian

Kevin...

<< fact of the matter is that on typical applications in
2D, the difference between this machine and my old K6-233 is not
really noticeable >>

Geez, that's a little discouraging. I just got my K6-2-350 & Asus motherboard with 128Meg SD100 by FedEx yesterday to replace my K6-233. Haven't performed the requisite brain surgery yet.

Huh...I won't notice the difference ?? A waste of my time and $$ ??? Please tell me it's gonna be a little faster!

regards, Dan

Kevin - Re: " I have a K6-2 with 96 mb of SDRAM running at 3.5 x 112 MHz = 392 MHz The fact of the matter is that on typical applications in 2D, the difference between this machine and my old K6-233 is not really noticeable "

That was a good reason to upgrade !
