Mohan,

I always try to see every side to an issue, however, in this case I cannot rationalize the way Kumar is trying to straddle the fence. His timing couldn't be worse AND it is at the same time CPQ is making an announcement about how they've got a great plan to nail DELL. I understand the latter is competition but I also understand timing. Don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting anything along the lines of Kumar and CPQ being in any type of alliance, etc. I am irritated both of these things happened the week of earnings. Heave the threat of Iraq on top and the skiddish emotions of investors the last several months and we have the recipe for "knee jerk" reactions which impacts each of our investment dollars.

I hope you're thoughts on this are right and I'm wrong.

We'll all be rewarded long term as long as the overall markets stay healthy. After all we have the chip makers with good news, Michael is appearing on T.V. tomorrow (another good sign,) we're in the best quarter of the year for sales and the earlier indications out of Dell was this would be a good quarter.

Hang in there my friend...I know I will.

T.R.

Hi Mo,..Re:,,I say this because he still has a 'strong buy' on the company even though he pointed out some possible minor changes that he might have noticed

Bravo Mohan. We can't fault the guy for doing his job and stating his opinion based on the data he has at hand. But as you pointed out, he also knows that Dell is the pick of the crop; therefore, he maintains a strong buy. We have to listen to all legitimate evaluations and the fact that he doesn't play in the same arena as the big brokerage houses says, to me anyway, that his work might be less biased than what we regularly hear.

More importantly, sometimes I worry that we are too close minded when it comes to market realities or evaluations. Only by listening to and evaluating all we hear can we then make objective decisions. You've made an excellent point about the expectations regarding Dell and perhaps, unwittingly, Mr. Kumar has helped to deflate some pretty unreasonable expectations.

If we knew exactly what data he used and could see his worksheets, then we might be in a better position to criticize, don't you think?

Regards,

Lee
