My intent? And how, pray tell, would Mr. substantive debate know what my intent was? Judging from your artful twisting of my original statement, I'd say your statement of my intent is suspect. Of course, your intent is obvious, get Clinton impeached one way or the other, and anything that might argue against that course is irrelevant. That leads to substantive debate, for sure. Sorry about the election, though. Newt and Livingston seem to have read something into it they shouldn't have. Speaking of irrelevant, how are you going to get Hyde to introduce your usually litany of offenses that Starr didn't see fit to put into his "report", if there aren't going to be any other witnesses?

Since you feel the need to perpetually twist my words to suit your various "substantial debate" ad hoministic and straw man needs, I will leave you with an old quote.

"I thought from day one, as I think today, that this was bad for the country," said one of Starr's defenders who now questions his tactics. "Sometimes you have to exercise prosecutorial discretion." Even though this defender of Starr said he believed the president was guilty of significant misconduct, he said, "the cost to the country far outweighs the value of proving it."

Want to take a crack at twisting those words, K? You do a good job on that, I've got some direct quotes from Newt and Livingston, too.
