The way that they did it, financing their part largely with Sodra, has minimized the expense to Lundin Oil, while allowing them to profit in case of a strike. (As I understand it).

Until Lundin Oil went on the market under that name, it was hard to place money on the same side as the Lundin family. This is much better than allowing them to speculate with your money, as I found out in the case of Tanganyika Oil (if it is still called that). I recently more than tripled my holding of Lundin. If oil prices ever recover, it could be a very good investment. I suppose I am still a little uneasy that somehow I might get left holding some bag or other, since the Lundins are so very clever; but if they sell out to a major oil company at some point, I should get my cut, too.
