Howard,

was able to get past the "invalid disk" nonsense. It was a little messy, having the disk formated /B (from the A,C,SCSI boot sequence) still hung the boot from D,A,SCSI up on the 7.6 primary active - but the message was "specify command processor: like C:\windows\command.com". So I specified A:command.com, then A: and I was effectively running off the floppy. Managed to overcome the mscdex syntax and now have the install file copy proceeding blissfully.
