Just released from Van Kasper: 12:59pm EST 12-Nov-98 Van Kasper & Company There is a negative article in today's Wall Street Journal criticizing EntreMed and the results that it has presented using its cancer drugs Angiostatin and Endostatin. We do not agree with the opinions expressed in the article, as we believe that it presents several confusing and misleading statements. It is our opinion that the two most blatant inaccuracies presented in the article are that EntreMed will need a commercial partner in order to initiate clinical trials of Endostatin and that the National Cancer Institute has delayed human testing of Endostatin for at least one year. We believe that EntreMed is on track to initiate clinical trials of endostatin in the first half of FY99, and the Company has stated that it will not need a commercial partner in order to do so. It is our belief that the stock may react negatively to the article and we would advise investors to use any significant pullbacks as buying opportunities.
