I would never short and otherwise healthy company already selling at or below NAV.

I agree the potential for hitting 15 by end of year is high, and if the current week-to-week trend holds, we will be there and more. Here are the short term drivers in my opinion (having nothing to do with the company itself):

1. market recovery from overreactive fears about Asia - in process.
2. recovering technology market in general - in process.
3. recovering silicon market in general - in process.
4. the "January effect" - starting even now?

If you add to that a few decent announcements from the company itself, changing investor sentiment, etc., well, upside potential is certainly much greater than the downside.

For what its worth, ASSUMING that VLSI holds 11 today and if in the morning tomorrow it doesn't tank, I believe I'm going to be sorely tempted to buy more.
