Hi Judy,
HTCH: Do you see it having any trouble blowing through resistance at $32? Looks like it has its nose sticking pretty far out there (HPT) and may need to take a breather there.

AMAT performing well and I am happy.

Tom

Since EMC rose to $70, the High Pole Top danger point is now $65. EMC closed at $66.94 yesterday and today ended up about $1/4. The last time the stock had a HPT pattern was in September @ $50. The stock rose to $63 after the HPT but dropped to as low as $42 by October. EMC is a great company and will almost certainly go on to make new highs, however, if the HPT occurs, it's likely that the stock will display significant weakness somewhere in the near future. Because EMC's RS is bullish, the HPT, if it were to occur, would be a correction only.
For traders, it's never a bad idea to take a profit when a stock nears important resistance. "Buy just above support- sell just below resistance" as the rule goes. EMC has an important resistance line at $72 and the stock kind of stalled at $70, just below the Bullish Resistance Line. Long term holders of the stock should probably just ignore the short term gyrations and the implications of the HPT and the brl, however, if you're thinking of taking a little off the table, the HPT at $65 might provide further impetus to trim holdings a bit.
Support at $63, $56, and $46.

Take care,
Bruce
