David,

The way I look at it is this... PAIR hasn't participated fully in the boom (experienced by companies like MSFT and CSCO) because xDSL is really only at the beginning of being implemented. During the next year or two while xDSL becomes more widely used, PAIR will then have a greater chance for significant profit growth. Since the orders for xDSL have been more or less insignificant thus far (ie, not much demand by buyers of the equipment), PAIR got stuck in a pricing war and consequently their revenues suffered. Increased demand in the future will put an end to this. As far as I can tell, PAIR is a well-managed business and has a decent opportunity to capitalize on consumers' desire for faster internet connections. The controversy over whether ADSL or cable will be the dominant mode of broadband access matters, but perhaps not much. Even the studies that predict that cable will be more prevalent predict that ADSL growth will be substantial. Just my take on it, I try to look at the whole picture. Meanwhile, if you're truly a long, let the day traders play and don't worry about it.

Any temporary answers to my questions:

Does pair have a competitive advantage which would make it the object of a takeover .?? Does some other company really need pair's technology??
