Druss, It is the night before 'modern gun' season here. As a bowhunter, I try to tolerate lesser forms of life but it is getting difficult around here. THEY choose to gather here (I'm the best cook and close to the hunting). I feel slighted tonight though. They gather, eat my food, and then kick me out of the poker game. I was only up $200. OK, so I hit a lucky streak. I drew 3 eights to match the pair of deuces that I held...so what I was dealing. So what I drew 2 aces to match the 2 that I had in the hole (also while I was dealing). Just luck. I feel that everyone over-reacted by saying they wouldn't play with me unless I changed to a short-sleeved shirt. I was very careful as I dealt. I suppose that I made everyone nervous by 'riffling' the cards forward and backwards...with either hand. I did announce, "Watch very carefully. If you notice, the hands never leave the wrist." Still, everyone got nervous when I hit 3 inside straights...(I was only dealing on 2 of them). Why would they mistrust me? I, also, have a bet on the first buck. I probably should have mentioned that I have been bowhunting for a while. I might should have mentioned that I was 'glassing' and saw a good buck bed down this afternoon. But why let too many details get int he way? Why are these people so suspicious of my warm and gentle nature? Should I try for a 'Dear Abby' or is 'Dear Druss' good enough. After all, you know what a warm and caring person that I am. (I hope there was no misunderstanding about when I ran off in 'Lost Holler' and you thought I screamed, "He's a yankee". I was merely seeking someone that could give good directions. lee PS:Our poker games were honest, too.
