"Would you please explain why you chose FSMEX over FSPHX. I notice that FSPHX is now back to it's July high and FSMEX is below it's July high. ( is this part of the reason ? ) Also FSMEX's manager is new and the fund has a very short track record while FSPHX has a great track record and a seasoned manager."

I thought maybe FMESX would be hot since it was new (ie. somebody starting with fresh money and not holding any losses). Also, I kept buying medical device stocks, and often picked the wrong one or the wrong time, so I figured I'd let somebody else do the picking.

On a comparison chart:

At your prompting, I now see that FMESX performed about 3-4% worse than FSPHX since my purchase date, and that I have made $0 in it. Nice to finally see a chart.

I think I'll trade it in.

I have no idea what the financial sector will do for 6 months!

I bought back my old favorite closed end fund FF too early in the October dive. So I'm already holding something financial, but at a small loss :-(
