MB, >>>It is the IBMs and Compaqs who stuff the channel. But it is Intel's fault for misleading those who do not understand the business just so they can bull up the stock price and maximize their bonuses.<<<

It doesn't do anyone any good to have an inventory build up. Everyone loses. I think they have learned that from last year. Even Compaq - as they are too going to BTO model.

The Intel culture is basically still intact from Gordon Moore and Andy Grove to Craig Barrett. You don't go from $0 to $25B in thirty years by fooling people. Basically you don't have success or commerce in the first place if you don't have ethics.

Many of the unethical cos. are normally run by 'managers' who have take over successful cos and replaced the original culture from ethical managers that made the company successful in the first place.

Okay, okay, - it is only a theory that I have just made up and I can't really defend it.

Regards,

Mary
