Les,
What was our Revolutionary War about? Taxation without representation. Of course, the Socialist Democrats could care less since income redistribution is what keeps that party strong.

WE WILL HAVE TO SUFFER THIS ONLY TWO MORE TIMES

Believe me --- I am straining to control my true emotions and feelings as I make these notes .. but yesterday I witnessed a truly disgusting spectacle. It was truly difficult to keep from throwing a wrench through the television screen.

Yesterday was Veteran's Day. As I was wrapping up the show yesterday my attention was grabbed by one of the television monitors in the studio. There, on CNN, was Bill Clinton laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.

This vile, disgusting human being who has written of his loathing of our military was disgracing hallowed ground to stage a self-serving media event.

Oh, I know. You might say that his presence at Arlington should be tolerated because of the office he represents, not the man he is or isn't. That used to wash, but no more. He has so disgraced the office of the presidency that his continued presence there is just as vile as his presence at Arlington.

The Oval Office is occupied territory.

Make no mistake, there is widespread – almost universal disrespect (to put it mildly) for Bill Clinton among the men and women who are serving, and who have served in uniform defending this country.

My Father was shot at in three wars. He is buried at the National Cemetery at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. I pray that Clinton never defiles the ground where my Father rests.

TAXES -- EVER UPWARD

The Tax Foundation has released some more figures on how much the average American pays in taxes, and how long it takes them to work to pay their tax bill.

In 1913 "Tax Freedom Day," the day that the average American has earned enough to pay all taxes for the year, occurred in January. In 1997 that day fell in the second week in May.

According to the Tax Foundation, in 1997 Americans paid 35.2 percent of their total income in taxes. In 1913 that figure was 8 percent.

Remember, please, that through such transfer programs as the so-called Earned Income Tax Credit, many lower income people don't pay taxes at anywhere near the 35.2 percent rate. If you are an achiever. If you are in the upper 20 percent of income earners in this country, you are paying over 40 percent of your total income in taxes.

Oh --- and it continues to climb year after year after year.

When do you think you will have had enough?
