I couldn't agree with you more. VLSI should have never gone to $ 6 or even to $ 11 as it is now. But for a takeover artist/buyer this is a great opportunity to snap up the company. It would take some maneuvering, but a savvy player can pull it off! I don't know what defense VLSI can put up during a hostile takeover. If it gets taken over, with the upcoming semi-market pickup for the next three years, the bidder could recoup his costs and then some! In that same light, may be even VLSI can announce stock buybacks. But apparently, even they themselves don't feel this stock is undervalued - a notion I find hard to believe!

WHAT rumor? It was a single post on the yahoo thread. I prefer to think that the morning volume that kicked VLSI up a point was due to right thinking by a fund manager. (or not)

(I reread my earlier response, and I think that one of the implied msgs was that the company IS a target. I think that any company whose price is as depressed as this one is could be.... but I don't know nor have any right to believe that this one is. Apologies for the lack of clarity)
