My top two Internet picks EXGP and DRIV:

1. ExperTelligence (EXGP) is developing Web-based database software for portals. Deal with Saatchi & Saatchi. Book value per share >$1 and profitable. Up 31% on the bid to 3 1/8 today. 1.5 million shares outstanding giving it a market cap under $5 million. Based in Santa Barbara (like AVCO). Private investor with Wall St. connections has been accumulating all year (about 8% held by him).

2. Digital River (DRIV) is an e-commerce infrastructure co. which allows electronic distribution of software and safe and secure sales of other products online. DRIV has 12 patents pending. The Digital River Network has over 2,000 clients (ie: IBM, Lotus, Electronic Arts, USWest, Qualcomm, Cyberian Outpost, etc.) and markets over 130,000 products online. Sequential revenue growth astounding since inception. Latest conference call mentioned that they are shooting for new clients in the likes of Microsoft, Computer Associates, Adobe Systems, Oracle and Egghead.com. Trading at 12 1/2 with about 16 million shares outstanding. Buy recommendations from Alex Brown, Robertson Stephens and Bear Stearns.
