I have both Datek and Waterhouse too, along with MBTrading. Datek is 100 times faster than Waterhouse and MBT is 10x faster than Datek.

I don't know how people can trade actively with Waterhouse. Long term hold, I can understand.

Agreed. I use WH for my IRA, and I love them (I don't do but maybe 8-10 trades/month, mostly in blue-chips and various buy&hold stocks), so I don't really care. But for my taxable account, there is no way I am keeping it at WH. It's too frustrating dealing with the delay issues. To be fair, unlike Datek and others, no-one reasonable claims WH can do something it can't. e.g. it's not a daytrading brokerage. Period.

Thanks for all the responses regarding Waterhouse vs Datek. You all made it very clear what I should do and unless something changes drastically I'll leave things as I have them now.
Thanks, Ernie
