No John, it's not bullish for GOLD. That's why I mentioned it was speculation in the gold future delivery date. It would be bullish if it was in the further expiration and not the near term. More contracts where open on the DEC delivery, against a rising gold price.
Speculation is thus Bearish, not bullish.

Spot gold has been anaemic of late, and thus a short squeeze in the futures market was possible. For any substain gold rally to continue, Spot gold would need to climb above $305 by next WED. My speculation is that a CB is looking at dumping. I suspect this is a price washout. Even a confirmed WAR would not move gold much higher.

Watch for commodity deflation, with OIL on the sidelines, to accelerate in the coming months. The CRB index is a lagging
