Why would the Feb 7 1/2 have an offer of 1/4? These have to be dead money IF the deal is going through.

Zman, you have to cover...because even if the deal goes through you would still be considered NAKED.
If your brokerage firm allows you to trade naked options, abiding by the margin requirements then one could stay naked the Feb 7 1/2s.
As far as why someone would buy Feb 5's...maybe they are looking for a higher offer from Intel now that justice is being served we hope...Maybe they didn't want to spend 5700 for 1k. 10 calls instead were bought ?
