Avtel halted for news pending Friday November 13, 9:33 am Eastern Time NEW YORK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Avtel Communications Inc has been halted for news pending since 1740 EST/2200 GMT Thursday, according to a Nasdaq official. Nasdaq declined to comment on any further details about the halt. Avtel had announced Thursday a high speed Internet modem, which propelled its share price up 278[sic] percent during the day. Nasdaq had said Thursday it was seeking additional information from the company after its stock stock price soared to 31,up 28-3/4 on Thursday and continued to trade up 7 after hours ahead of the halt. Avtel provides broadband network services integrating voice, data and video networking. If you had invested $100,000 in Microsoft in 1993, you'd have approximately $1.2 million today. If you had "invested" $100,000 (at 2 3/8) in AVCO Thursday morning, your stock would be worth $1.3 million. o~~~ O
