Joe, Thanks you for sharing that beautiful love story..your father is one lucky man to have such a love in his life, and to have rediscovered it...your Mom is very lucky too to have someone who appreciates her so much..but I suspect that when you were young, and even now, they've worked at it a lot, and their struggles and triumphs have forged an indelible bond...and you're right, very inspirational... Joe, my best advice for you is to wait and don't settle, because a love like your parents have is grounded in deep love and oneness..even if it had to be "rediscovered"...and that is the most precious thing life has to offer. And it can make all the difference in your quality of life, and is worth the wait. I hope you find spine tingling "warm fuzzy" awe inspiring love..and if it leads to marriage, never let that love die...nurture it and encourage it...not with flowers and the like, those are temporary fixes and usually devices for appologies...but by supporting the one you love, and letting her know how glad you are that the two of you are a team.
