The founder of MT has already been let go. The people running it now are the ones trying to undo the mess he got MT into by buying the Santa Anita paired share REIT, and then going on a buying spree into motels and golf courses.

From the article, it looks like the restructuring charge will be about $4 a share. Maybe my guess yesterday about the $23 per share book value at 6/30/98 being reduced to around $18 was a little optimistic. Maybe the book value will settle around $16 or $17.
