A new type of cash machine will let you fire your bank.
Many people are forced to spend hundreds of dollars a year on checking account fees so they can cash their paychecks. Mr. Payroll machines (left) are the first automatic teller machines to cash checks and money orders from anyone.
When a person registers, a centralized security system memorizes his facial features. Later, when he presents a check he only has to type in his Social Security number and look the camera in the eye.
After the successful completion of a 10-state test, the machines will be installed nationwide. In the future the machines will help you spend your money too.
Planned upgrades will let customers buy money orders and tickets to entertainment events–for a fee, naturally.
