But how can you blame them for projecting 7.7% inflation when the economy they inherited had 12% inflation??? (point of fact, Kudlow protested the inflation numbers as too high) You have to look at long swaths of history to make any sense of it all. Just like FDR didn't single-handedly create the welfare state, Reagan didn't single-handedly destroy it. But the revolution is absolutely real. Reagan started the dialogue that led to "Read my lips; no new taxes," "The era of big government is over," real welfare reform (the only enduring legacy of Clinton, by the way), and God willing, entitlement reform one day. We're all Schumpeterian supply siders now!
