Greg,
Gross margin did not expand.
Bad in the eyes of momentum traders.
However, I will admit the business was surprisingly strong given the world situation.

My $.02,

This morning's selling on high volume, but with only a minor drop in price, is great for our consolidation in the mid-$60s. Let the dumb rats jump off. They'll be sorry they did.

Regards,

LoD

I don't care about analyst downgrade or upgrade, The only thing that bothered me yesterday (and that's why I sold my Dell yesterday) was
the price difference between Dell PC and Compaq PC. For all this time
if I compare price for any particular configuration from Dell
website and Compaq website, Compaq was always expensive by atleast
300 to 400 dollars, yesterday for the very first time when I compared
configuration of a 450MHZ and 350 MHZ PC (Dell Dimension V series, which is cheaper than R series) with exact same configuration price of Compaq was cheaper by $100, even after Dell's recent price reduction, which was very surprising to me so tried again and got same result, check for your own analysis and please correct me if I am wrong. The only question is whether Compaq will be able to maintain that price difference and whether Dell will be able to reduce prices and still maintain future earning per share with less profit margin ?
I guess Dell will go for price reduction but that calls for PC price war and that's not good. I like Dell very much for their support and reasonable price for their PC but YTY growth of 50% is hard to maintain in this competitive environment so will people pay for PE of 70 ? any comments ?
