I was watching compact disc warehouse on two different real-time quote servers Friday afternoon. When the stock began to drop it appeared to me as though market makers were intentionally lowering the bid in order to trigger stop losses. When this stock hit a bid of 10 and ask of 10 ½ I put in a bid of 10 ¼. The order did not get filled. I increased my bid to 10 and 7/16. The order did not get filled. While this was going on the asking price stayed at 10 ½. As I increased by bid my real-time quote servers showed the bid price going up as my bid was increased. I interpret this data to mean the market makers lowered the price to acquire stock because of stop losses. Without the intention of selling the stock below the asking price. With up to ½ point spread this suggest to me the market makers want to accumulate this stock. Or trading this stock with a stop loss is full hearty. In any case the stock went down on very small volume. And my bid prices were only 400 to 500 shares. and this small amount was enough to raise the bid price.

Best to all
