House passes Oil and Gas Bill
The National, Tuesday November 17
PORT MORESBY: Parliament last night passed the long awaited Oil and Gas Bill paving way for the billion kina PNG-to-Queensland pipeline project to go ahead.

Parliament voted 66-0, nine votes over the required 57 absolute majority mark to enact the new law following the third and final reading by Minister for Petroleum and Energy, Sir Rabbie Namaliu.

Sir Rabbie described the new law as an "impetus" to the PNG/Queensland pipeline project and one of the most significant pieces of legislation to be presented to Parliament since Indpendence.
