Dave, there is no margin compression that I can see. From all that I can tell, Dell is still doing quite well. Revenues are expected to grow at around 50% per annum. I think what we've seen is the quarterly explosion of the stock price fueled by momentum investors. Remember, most marketing analysts (except for Forrester) foresee a long term increase in growth (up from an estimated 15% to 17%).

My only complaint with this company is the shell game it plays with options. Unfortunately, only a handful of investors understand what a scam this practice represents. It is used by the bluest of the blue chips (like IBM) right down to five letter stocks and everything in between.
