Rudy, if the practice is that prevalent that it would take a standards change in general accounting, then we should just view it as a management fee, much like those charged on many mutual funds. You are right that it wouldn't be fair to expect some companies to adopt the more straightforward accounting while others don't. It is my understanding that Berkshire Hathoway does not participate in this type of compensation but that is the only company I know of that has explicitly stated that it doesn't.

At any rate, Dell has rewarded us nicely so it's difficult to get very upset about this accounting.

Are you familiar with RMBS technology? It provides a high bandwidth interface between memory and the processors and could become the standard for the next generation desktop machines, and perhaps servers. Is RMBS technology applicable to networking?
