Netscape security...

bbruin wonders "I just switched from IE to Netscape and I notice that I have to type in my password every time I exit Netscape and log back into SI. How do I save my user name and password....?"

You can't. Probably, the Netscape implementors think that this is a security feature. They're right, but some people, who think their physical PC is secure enough, would rather not have to type it.

This is almost certainly the reason that Brad got started thinking about "login cookies" which we have been discussing (!) for so long.

Still, I think you'll find Netscape's software to be better in enough other ways to stay with it. I prefer it... but then I don't want anything memorizing my passwords.

Dick

You don't, it's a security risk saving passwords. I don't think Netscape will ever have that feature. If you like easy access to SI, then vote YES to COOKIES.

I HATE COOKIES.
and
I HATE IE4
