Just wanted to thank you for NEWZ I am new at day trading and position trading, but I bought NEWZ at 7.5 and got out at 9. I should have sold when it spiked to 11, but you live and learn. Using day and position trading, I've almost tripped my portfolio in the last month, so I can't complain. (Biggest mistake was buying ENMD and THNK on Thurs. and not getting out on Thurs. Oh well, they will come back in the next few weeks, and I'll be whole...at least ENMD. I loved the action in CTII, in sympathy with GERN, and I did OK on that one, although I missed GERN) I still think NEWZ will move again (and I will buy again at the right price (<7.5)), judging by all of the insider buying. Something is up. Hope I can do as well on others. (My best play, to date, as a newbie, was shorting OMPT at 8 3/16 when CNBC announced the law suit, then covering at 7.5, then going long at 7 when they announced they had settled the suit, then selling at 8.5, all within 15 minutes. I use Supercharts, interquote, and IQchart. If anyone has suggestions on TA techniques, or better (or more consolidated) software for position and daytrading, let me know. Also, how about level 2? I'm looking to learn all I can and get better at this...any suggestions appreciated. As for LU and ADI, I have no opinion, other than wishing I had bought ADI on 10/8. I use their components all of the time, and they are a good company, from my professional (EE) point of view. When I look at their businesses, I can see a certain logic to the merger, since ADI is a premier (maybe the premier) vendor of analog circuit components, which are critical for all of the various wireless and analog technologies today, while LU is not, generally, known as a chip vendor, although they do produce some DSP and similar chips. Sorry for the long post.
