I thought too many calls was a bearish sign. Clout is
a non-issue in this instance since both sides got be
pretty $$$$$$$$$$$$. Anyhow, most options expire
worthless (97% ?).

Expect things to change after 20th.

Fundamentals are good. Sybase is full of troubles.
Accounting is bound to be super clean. Management
is nothing if not focused. Oracle is the big winner
already but we are value investors here (and also
not so averse to a tick here and there ;-) and our
interest is more in $ than in bits and bytes.

In face-to-face transaction not much personal information
was revealed. On WWW, its a different story - you can
legitimately track buyers and that means mining. The new
merchant infrastructure also means a lot more emphasis on
complex distributed OLTP. Informix is good in OLTP and
gearing up on warehousing. Good news if they can execute.
They do have some kick ass technology to leverage. And,
a respectable management.

Not a bad bet.
