TheGlobe.com surprises Street on first day

TheGlobe.com takes Wall Street by surprise as it blasts out the door
with a first trade of the day at 87 a share for its initial public
offering. That's quite a jump from its initial IPO target price of
9 a share. Last month, the company postponed its IPO as investor
interest and the markets sagged--even after lowering its pricing
range.

If you had "divested" $1.3 million. (at 31) in AVCO Thursday
afternoon and got this IPO, your stock would be worth $12.6 million.

Microsoft's Gates's Testimony Causes Judge to Laugh

Washington, Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates'
attempt to disavow the software giant's plans to overtake Netscape
Communications Corp. in the Internet browser war prompted laughter from
the judge who will decide the company's fate.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson laughed out loud.

Can you say "appeal"? Can you say "throw out"?
