Financial Aid Plan

Dow Jones Newswires

WASHINGTON -- Following is the breakdown of international support
for Brazil, a total package of around $41.5 billion, as provided by the
Treasury Department:

*IMF -- $18 billion, with a first disbursement amount of $5.25 billion after
approval of Brazil's fiscal program by the IMF's executive board. A
second disbursement of $5.25 billion would be contingent on a successful
review by the IMF by February 1999.

*Multilateral Development Banks -- $9 billion, including a $1.1 billion loan
approved in September 1998. The World Bank would provide $4.5 billion
and the Inter-American Development Bank would provide $4.5 billion.

*Bilateral Financing -- $14.5 billion, through credits extended to Brazil by
the Bank of International Settlements from 20 different countries. The U.S.
contribution will be $5 billion.
