Hi Zorro:

Thanks for attracting my attention to the LMDS re-auction.
I assume they have now eliminated minimum bids. Given the
rural location of most of the remaining BTAs, this auction
may not attract much interest, unless the FCC sets a
very low threshold for license renewal.

I started studying the documents on the 39GHz auction.
The FCC will not bar LECs from participating in the
auction, so that the auction will be open to all.
P-MP uses are allowed, and apparently mobile
wireless uses. The only way this use makes sense is if,
as gentleman-Boyle indicated on Yahoo, mobile operators
use the spectrum for P-P backhaul of mobile calls.

Otherwise, I refer all readers to previous messages by Steve
Bowen describing the decomposition of the spectrum into
pairs of 50MHz channels for down and uplink. This looks
like an unbelievable fragmentation of the spectrum.
It will be extremely difficult to reaggregate the spectrum
if needed. Once again, the logic of the FCC's actions
appears strange.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy

<< The FCC has scheduled the re-auction of remaining LMDS licenses to begin April 27, 1999 per the following Public Notice>>

Great, who's in. But we've got to move fast April in just around the corner. All we need is a little seed money, and a super techy company name with Wireless in the title and we are on our way. Some thing like WirelessUpTheKazoo (Ticker symbol:WUTK)

Next Step. The Business Plan. Yuck. Forget that !!

Let's just skip to the funstuff ---- Titles !!

Okay lets see:
Bernard -- CTO and Corporate Guru
SteveG -- President and CEO
SteveB -- Finance VP (You get the thankless job of watching the expenditures (Particulary the line item labeled Admin.)
SW -- Public Relations VP (but you must then stay Long)
Paul -- Investor Relations (if we have any, Investors that is.)
We'll outsource Info. Sys. (WAY too much of a headache !!)
Barbara -- do you want to do Marketing ?
Mark Lewin -- Merger & Acquisitions VP (start up in Seattle, then fly over to the U.K., but I don't want to tell you how to do your job).
DreamWeaver -- What else, Head of the Strategy and Planning dept. BTW is it okay if I "telecommuite" ?
Everyone else can be in Reseach & Development (if it is properly funded by Bernard of course).
Who / What did I leave out?
Oh yeah, someone MUST figure out WNP (Zorro?), and report back to the company in the form of a memo...
Keep Dreaming,
Lots of money in them there airwaves.
