Gambit, you're right!! SB Live Value creams the MX-300 in every measure!!! Wow that must be like 20 measurements or so, and SB Live Value beats MX-300 on all of them. So a MX-300 is basically for people who want to justify buying very powerful CPUs which are sitting around doing nothing, while SB Live is for people who want to upgrade their well-utilised PCs to give better value for money!!!

Note that the MX-300's soft-DVD playback is "noticeably fragmented".

Note that SB Live Value got 10 stars versus the MX-300's 9 stars.

The reviewer does say that A3D 2.0 is a superior but more complicated API compared to EAX. But then we now have EAX 2.0, and who knows what Creative will come up with once MX-300 starts shipping (EAX 3.0 with full geometry-based positional sound?).
