A friend of mine works in the retail software business. Lat last year when Egghead was closing many of their retail stores, and reorganizings we were all scratching our heads wondering what they were thinking about.

Well... I think that the CEO will describe a pretty broad vision on Monday. Software sales over the web is as perfect as selling books.. perhaps more perfect... software can be dowloaded (especially over a high speed connection). Lower distribution costs, lower support costs, virtual real-estate, no stores... They will still face fullfillment costs, but EGGS is poised to dominate over the next few years.

Say good bye to the corner software store.

Long on EGGS...

>>>Not a hype and air like AVCO ,, god help those holding it ,,<<<

I actually placed a buy order for 500 shares on AVCO at 3:57 yesterday hoping for a gap up the next day. It was a market order so I thought I would get it. Waterhouse told me that most orders placed after 3:50 weren't accepted because the market makers were so backed up that they couldn't handle anymore orders prior to the close. so I didn't get it. Man, am I glad. I bet it opens between 5-10.
Sometimes I think we must have guardian angels.
