AVCO fiasco... What can I say.. Everyone has been looking for a catalyst to make these internut stocks come back to earth, and I think we just saw it. The price was bid up from a buck to over 20 in just a few hours because of a MISTAKE in a press release, and the timely internut mania that was occuring that day. On monday, the stock will collapse, everyone agrees. People who bet the farm on that stock will lose everything they have. Now _that's_ the type of pain that puts speculative frenzies to an end. BTW- I noticed that Theglobe.com almost touched 100 for a few minutes, then came down to 60 all in a span of 3 hours. You dont think your favorite speculative net-play can collapse? Theglobe gained 1000 percent in 1 second, then fell by half in just a few hours. We need a few more explosions like AVCO before the first-time momo E-Trade investor gets scared back into working for a living instead of gambling on pie-in-the-sky internut valuations.
