Reg:

Agree that comparisons are a little silly at this point especially for those of us that have followed the stock from $1.20 to $5 down to 60 cents.

Ebay actually has about 37 million shares outstanding. The 3 million shares were the amount that was offered in the IPO. This is what gives it the approximate $4.92 billion market cap. You're right that one cannot compare Ebay with Bid.Com because they are very different companies. Ebay makes money from commissions on sales. Bid.Com will only make money if they sell their inventory for more than cost. Therefore, the risk is much higher with BII than Ebay because Ebay doesn't care how much the item sells for, they will make their money regardless. BII on the otherhand, has to compete with other auction sites in terms of price and actually has to rid itself of its inventory, which will directly affect their profitability or losses for the year.

If people want to make comparisons, EGGS - Nasdaq or ONSALE are companies that are in the same business as BII, although in viewing their sites, seem to be far ahead. However, on a positive note of comparisons, EGGS has just come off a recent low at 4 5/8, now trading at $12-$13. As far as BII taking off, I still have my fingers crossed as I still hold shares from a while ago. Perhaps the new IR guy is doing his job effectively...a lot better than the previous PR (or lack thereof) that this company ever had.

Regards,

Obie.

ebay trades on the Nasdaq, Bid is not. US market is BIGGER, Canada is not. Ebay is handed with a silver spoon, BII is not.
